Victor Vieira – ‘The Victor Vieira Experience’ [Main Hall]
3 March @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
French chef turned talented photographer, Victor Vieira will share images covering his entire photographic journey.
Victor loves to spend time creating stunning macro photography. But his range includes people, long exposure landscape photography and, in winter at home, making some amazing pictures with drops of water.
Victor Vieira was born near Carcassonne, South of France and has been living and working in Hull since 2014. As a classically trained chef, who has over fifteen years’ experience in working for busy, chic restaurants, Victor uses the same recipe for success in his photography: attention to detail, creativity and the pleasure of creating images to share.
Victor Vieira received his first film camera at 17 years old during a stay on Reunion Island, a French island in the Indian Ocean which is known for its volcanic, rain forested interior, coral reefs and beaches. During this time, he was already experimenting with underwater photography using disposable cameras, which he bought in bulk from the neighbourhood photographer.
It was in 1999 that Victor evolved to his first digital camera, which was equipped with different lenses. This is when Victor’s passion for macro photography, landscape photos and studio photos became serious.
His work as an amateur photographer has been refined over the years, and the support he has received from both the public and his peers, has encouraged him to develop his passion in a professional manner. He has exhibited regularly in recent years in Yorkshire and the South of France and his work has been selected for various competitions.
