- About Us
It is important to take images that you like and process them in the style that you prefer. However, many photographers revisit old images and process them differently when they see them again. Others, seeing your images, might also interpret them in a different way and perhaps bring a different perspective to your images.
As part of the evolution of our critique sessions we are trying a slight twist on the usual format, with members having the opportunity to submit an unprocessed and an edited version of each image. Prior to the session, our moderators John Saunders and Trevor Richardson will themselves edit the unprocessed image without having viewed the photographer’s interpretation.
The original unprocessed image (the digital negative) and the two edited versions will be compared in a friendly and constructive fashion, with input and ideas from the audience about how the images might be optimised. To allow sufficient time for discussion it is envisaged that no more than 20 images will be reviewed during the evening. This means that there may not be time to review all the submitted images, although everyone is encouraged to send in at least one image (unprocessed and processed versions). John and Trevor will select images that offer a good variety and that they feel are most likely to promote discussion.
Please read the attached instructions (PDF document linked below) about how to submit your images to ensure that the evening runs smoothly.
